Today is the International Day of Tolerance. 

Mother Teresa said, “Peace begins with a smile.” 

Let’s remember that as we listen to the rest of this morning’s prayer…. 

If you believe that a smile is stronger than a weapon
If you believe in the power of a helping hand
If you look at others with a little love

If you share your bread and include a piece of your heart
If you think forgiving is more important than revenge 
If you sing other people’s happiness and dance their joy
If you can accept someone else’s opinion without arguing
If you look at others as children of God

If you believe that LOVE is always the BEST answer
Then….and only then, PEACE is really possible.

Heavenly Father,
You created us. All of us
Please fill our hearts with love, so that there is no room for hate.
Fill our minds with understanding, so that there is no room for fear.
Fill our eyes with wonder so that we may see the goodness of each person.
So that we may love, understand and respect one another.
All this we ask in the name of our heavenly Brother, Jesus Christ our Lord.
